Watching Trump yesterday speak at a civil rights museum was like seeing Trump speak at an ethics symposium, or a women's rights rally, or at a higher education seminar.

It was like watching Herman Himmler getting an Aliyah on Kol Nidre

    So much economic anxiety.
Anybody know where this happened? Sadly, it could be anywhere in Trump's America.

That was great. Hilarious at times.

Did we ever learn what salad dressing any other president liked “slathered” on their lettuce? Did Michelle Obama’s constant, scolding presence get any coverage?

    Scary-dumb, too ...

Before taking office, Mr. Trump told top aides to think of each presidential day as an episode in a television show in which he vanquishes rivals.

Ben Shapiro has received a ton of anti-semitic abuse -- and, oddly also been called a Nazi -- over the last couple of years. I didn't read the article you linked to, so I don't know if @QYFW thought there was an undertone of anti-semitism to it, but I suspect, if anything, his shot at you was misdirected, and aimed at the author of the piece.

To be clear, I don't think you are anti-semitic at all, and obviously QYFW doesn't either, and has apologized for his comment.

But, yes, no one who who has no history of anti-semitism should have to defend himself against such a charge, and I wish I had said something in your defense when the charge was first made. It was unfair, and you deserved others to come to your defense.

I think we have (or had, as a few are now gone) a small number of posters here who are actually racist, anti-semitic, anti-gay, misogynists, etc., and I think I've been clear in identifying who I believe they are, have called them put -- even when they're on "my side" of the political aisle.

I can be friendly with folks who are liberal, prefer football to baseball, or who like cats. But, racism, anti-semitism, anti-gay, and misogyny, are all a bridge too far for me. I can't and won't be your friend, try to understand you, or have a friendly discussion with you about baseball, music, or politics.

I'm sorry you didn't feel properly defended. And, while the time that someone used the picture of my wife and I to mock me didn't really offend me -- I always think something like that exposes way more about the person who does that than it bothers me -- I do appreciate the spirit in which you came to my defense.
