Yeah, but you have alcohol and cigs, which are ingested in the body. Guns aren't. Guns also seem to be a much more violent issue than alcohol and cigs.

I vote we never use the word “Twitterati” again.

If my judgment is subjective, then how is it we can agree they made different choices?

And, again, I'm not saying "don't write it," I asked, originally, what other president had dressing "slathered" on their salad? And maybe some did, I dunno.

I read the sentence as a liberal virtue signal. And I'm guessing others might, too. And when people indict the "liberal press," they're speaking in part about little digs like that sentence, which some conservatives read as liberals saying "We're better than you."

Most normal people don’t need this information to come to the conclusion that the president is an uncultured pig.

That he’s an incredibly unhealthy person on top of that is news. Whether it hurts his feelings or not.

There is a large down-scale culture that includes many well-educated and liberal-leaning people whose devotees revel in mocking what they view as "elite" culture, which how we got the return of Pabst Blue Ribbon among other things. I imagine there are plenty of people who identify with each side (and plenty more who don't give a fuck). There may even be conservatives somewhere who are foodies themselves. What's the issue again?

The Pioneer Woman didn't get where she is thanks to the liberal elites. The foodie culture knows no political boundaries.

And as edited, they would be correct.

    1) It's an easy way to defang a man a lot of people see as a terrifying monster. It's a reversal of status between the powerful and the powerless. He might kill us all, but he eats terrible steak, so joke's on him.

    2) It gives hope that his heart might explode, thus ridding us of this terror in a way that doesn't make anyone feel guilty, because it's a self-inflicted wound.

    3) Most important: "Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are."—Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin.

Every celebrity story that takes place in a restaurant (too many of them) includes what the celebrity is eating and how he or she is eating it. That food reveals character is a societal given at this point. Trump is hardly enduring uniquely unkind attention here. It's kind of nuts to think that he is. See just about every profile ever.

Fuck every one of you savages who eat raw meat. My ancestors invented fire so I could have well-done, properly-cooked meals. You probably still cook in your yard, too. And wear flip-flops.

They probably invented it so as not to freeze to death, but . . .
