It's interesting to me that Lizza isn't copping to it. A lot of accused seem to be apologizing or vanishing. Lizza is straight-up calling bullshit. I wonder where this one leads.

Sounds like maybe a Cook-Benedikt relationship, i.e. superior-subordinate? Or perhaps a relationship with someone the magazine considered a Lizza source or potential source?

I have to think Conde-Nast has some pretty well-documented policies regarding relationships/sources/etc.

This is Mario Batali. Fat, sweaty, bald, greasy. Nope. Doesn't fit the sterotype.

They might, but this stuff has never come up at any magazine for which I've worked, unless it's been buried in a contract clause that I can't recollect having read. In all my years of working in this business, the only outlet that has explicitly mentioned workplace conduct is ESPN.

I interviewed half-heartedly for a Conde-Nast copy editing job years ago, and the environment seemed as stifling as a campus organization.

Prediction: This Lizza thing is going to get real ugly. Law firm repping her is the same law firm that took on Fox News.
