Do we not have a running 2017 golf thread?

And any "fan" that would do that is a complete loser. That's my point.

The governing bodies aren't done embarrassing themselves with rules snafus. I'm sure of that.

    FIFY.
Funny how we never hear anything stupid like this go on with the R&A.

Yep. You obviously are unable to grasp the mostly sensible concept why golf's administration is different from all the other sports. Until you're able to understand the rationale behind that, it's not possible to have a conversation.

This is going to blow up in the face of some tour or organization.

Definitely. Let’s not forget about Michael Bamberger’s bullshit regarding Michelle Wie. Can’t believe golf allowed this for so long.

Man. I had forgotten about the Wie thing. IIRC, he mentioned it to a rules official after sleeping on it? What a weird deal.

Yep. That’s what happened, not to mention he made himself part of the story.

First of all, it was a few scattered incidents. Lexi in this year's Dinah Shore. Tiger in 2013 Masters. Dustin in 2016 U.S. Open. This wasn't rampant.
Second, if the worst you can say about some golf fans is that they care very deeply about the rules, so be it. I don't think they'd be insulted by that.

I suppose it doesn't matter that he was right. And that she has a documented history of being very casual with the rules?
