This is by Deborah Wesson Gibson, a Facebook friend of mine. I think she makes some very good points. She didn't get really pissed off until Roy Moore lied and claimed not to know any of the women who spoke out about dating him. It's well worth a read.

"Cherry-picking Bible verses can get really tricky. There is Scripture that warns us not to wear a garment sewn of two fabrics; another Bible verse instructs us to avoid pork. I grew up in Alabama, and would like to meet the Alabamian who has never worn a poly-cotton blend ("Roll Tide," "War Eagle," "Go Blazers," etc.) nor eaten a mouth-watering BBQ sandwich from Dreamland, Saws, Big Bob’s, Full Moon, Ray’s in Attalla — too many heavenly choices to name!"

    -------------------------

"He could’ve been such a force for good; Roy Moore is a bright man! Instead, we see him aligned with the worst of what the Republican party has ever offered up: the Bannon and Trump brand of racism, bigotry, homophobia and misogyny. This is a man who co-authored a legal training course that included a lecture arguing women shouldn’t run for office, and if they do, that voters have a moral obligation not to vote for them. Moore has expressed sympathy for Putin’s disgust with America, and opined for the days when "families were united — even though we had slavery." What level of disconnect allows someone to make such a statement?

Moore is a mortifying caricature of the worst of conservative values. As a Christian myself, he subverts my precious faith when he states that he is polarizing “because he believes in God.” Really? I think millions of other Americans manage to believe in God — from numerous faiths — without being polarizing."

Let's be honest, there are a lot of people in NY media who relate to Dunham, born in New York, private schools, artistic bent and liberal. Not all shows are meant for every audience and that's fine. It probably says something good about the show that a message board of former sportswriters etc. (mostly outside of New York) don't relate to it at all.

What do these people need to see to understand this is not their party anymore.
They are 'plain folk', sure, but they can't be this naive.
This president is not a conservative. He uses the vessel of the Republican Party and wears a toga of conservative principles, but he is not classically conservative and nor are the Bannons, Millers, et al.

Was Hillary Clinton worried that New York was in danger of going Republican?

The Latest: Pelosi calls Trump tweet 'disgusting'

"The White House says “there’s no way” the president’s tweet about Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand was “sexist at all.”

President Donald Trump lashed out at the New York Democrat in a tweet Tuesday, calling her a “lightweight” and a “total flunky” for Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer.

Trump also said Gillibrand “would come to my office begging for campaign contributions not so long ago” and would “do anything for them.”

Gillibrand called the tweet a “sexist smear,” and Trump ignored a reporter’s question about the tweet.

Spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders says Trump was talking about a political system he thinks is rigged and the fact that politicians repeatedly beg for money.

Sanders says only people with their minds in the gutter would read anything sexual into the tweet."

YF, tell me more about the honesty of the responses by White House mouthpieces, please.

Remember, elements of the right maintain that Hillary Clinton intimidated Juanita Broaddrick out of reporting a rape by stating, "Thank you for all that you do for Bill" at a fund-raiser.

Sure. That said, what do you think Trump was implying? He did everything but throw in how good she'd look on her knees.

Hillary talked about carrying hot sauce in her bag to a radio host, she was desperately trying to connect with young voters.
