Oh, Trump's going to be pissy tomorrow morning. Tweetstorm hurricane warning in effect. Moore, and now this?

Here's how you do it, and what Hillary's poor campaign didn't do.

I also imagine there are a few Republicans in Alabama pleased with the result, knowing the seat is up again in 2020, a Presidential year at that.
Still, you could fill a book about momentous special elections in the Senate. Obama's seat in Illinois, the Kennedy seat, this, and the far-reaching impacts (short-term as the above were) they had.

Give his team credit for once, though. At least they didn't send out the scheduled tweet congratulating Moore.

I'm reminded of a night when the local high school team was playing for the Section football title and the marketing dept. prepared a special rack ad in the event of a win. Locals lost. Soon as I got back to the office, I told the late prepress woman: "Make sure that ad doesn't get out."

At the Gannett paper I worked at, there were times when this sporting goods store were set to run an ad for T-shirts and stuff if the local MLB or NFL team won the title on the night of the game. But the ad was a contigency, as in it only would run if the team won.

Needless to say, not only did it make it more stressful to design the page without knowing if the ad would run or not, but there was always the dread that the ad would run even if the team lost.

In a way, they're right. If Jones is a typical Dem the next three years he'll likely get crushed in 2020. Unless the GOP finds someone worse than Roy Moore.

I suspect the Dem leadership knows that and will lean on him to vote with them on EVERYTHING so as to get what they can while they can. In that sense, you're right. Jones isn't going to be allowed to play the field.

"Good conservative government and policies are always worth pursuing."

I'd be happy as fuck to climb back aboard the Republican wagon if they could remember the value of middle-class America. Instead, everything favors the rich. Hard times get harder, and it didn't have to go that route at all.

Humbly disagree that Jones is an abortion crusader. Despite talking points, nobody “wants” abortion. But I’m not about to get into a 10-page thread jack about abortion. It’s the current law. If that changes, we can talk.

This special election was about striking down a pedophile and racist. Job done. Abortion was not a key ballot issue, otherwise Moore would have won, no matter how awful he is.

As a lifelong Dem in CA who has lived through 2016, this is exactly the thinking that led to Trumpism, atop the strict party line politics. Let Jones, an honorable man, vitebin the best interest of his constituents.
