    Wow. Talk about slut shaming.

What's Elizabeth Warren going to say about this?

A female Democratic House member shocked fellow lawmakers Wednesday when she said that the revealing clothing that some members and staffers wear is an “invitation” to sexual harassment.

Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) made the comments during a private Democratic Caucus meeting Wednesday to discuss sexual harassment issues, according to two Democratic sources in the room.

“I saw a member yesterday with her cleavage so deep it was down to the floor,” Kaptur said, according to the sources present. “And what I’ve seen … it's really an invitation.” The comments left many others in the room stunned, the sources said.

Kaptur said women on Capitol Hill should have to abide by a stricter dress code, like those adopted by the military or corporations.

“Maybe I’ll get booed for saying this, but many companies and the military [have] a dress code,” she said. “I have been appalled at some of the dress of ... members and staff. Men have to wear ties and suits.”

She's 71. Her views were set long ago, same as many of the men's. She also walked that back in the part of that article you didn't clip.

"In a statement to POLITICO later Wednesday, Kaptur said she never meant to suggest that women are to blame for harassment they experience.

“When I was first elected to Congress my office and I became a refuge for female staffers who had been mistreated by their bosses. Some of them in tears many days. It is something I carry with me to this day and something I brought up during our Caucus meeting," she said. "Under no circumstances is it the victim's fault if they are harassed in any way. I shared the stories from my time here in the context of the ‘Me Too’ legislation and how we can elevate the decorum and the dress code to protect women from what is a pervasive problem here and in society at large.”

    LOL. You're kidding me, right?

She' a dinosaur? That's the excuse?

And, of course -- now that it's become public, and she's faced criticism for it -- she's walked it back. Big fucking deal. Do you think her original comments didn't reflect her true feelings?

The right's war against Mueller will fail

"The Washington Post reported Thursday that General H.R. McMaster, President Trump’s national security advisor, said this week that Russia is pioneering “new generation warfare” involving campaigns of “subversion and disinformation and propaganda” to pit Americans against each other and destabilize our democracy.

It is no coincidence that Trump’s previous national security advisor, Michael Flynn, has copped a plea to lying to the FBI and is now providing evidence to investigators.

It is a mystery why President Trump remains unwilling to unequivocally state that this Russian attack against America has happened, continues to happen and must be condemned and countered.

It is an outrage that a faction of Republicans, who do not speak for a majority of Republicans in Congress, wage an aggressive attack against Mueller while he investigates the aggressive Russian attack against America.

One would hope that all Democrats, Republicans, liberals, conservatives and Americans would want to know exactly what the Russians do in their attacks against America and whether or not any Americans are implicated. Most Americans and legislators from both parties do want to know the truth. They support actions such as sanctions against Russia in response.

The faction of the GOP that now wages political war against Mueller is the exception, and one way or the other, they are destined to lose their war against Mueller.

Regarding their charge that Mueller, his special counsel team or the FBI are biased against Trump, let's be crystal clear about the key point:

As soon as Mueller learned of any bias against Trump by anyone associated with the investigation, the biased party was removed from the investigation in a clear and decisive demonstration of integrity, ethics and professionalism that should be universally applauded."

A Democratic Congressman said something dumb. "The sky is falling! The sky is falling! We're all going to die!".

Gimme a break. Like no GOP congresscritter has ever said something far worse which you danced to excuse. I mean, seriously, YF, if you just look at the post Weinstein timeline, how many people have said things that sounded completely stupid, clueless, and indefensible? By that standard, what she said was very mild... that if you wear low cut dresses, men will look down them. This isn't exactly news.

This isn't different than what she initially said.

When a Republican changes his or her story, we didn't listen right or it was a tactic. It's never a lie.

When a Democrat does the same, it must be a lie and we must denounce that person immediately!
