Bennigan's was our go-to place when I worked the desk and we rushed out to get food and drinks before last call.

I miss Chi-Chi's and its lunch buffet. That was a good quick stop.

"Eatin' at the combo Long John Silvers-KFC in Tiffin, Ohio"
would be good entry for a game of Drunken Tweet or Tom Waits Song Lyric?

The problem I have with LJS is, it didn't matter if you ordered chicken or fish, it all looked and tasted the same.

I kind of liked LJS growing up. Then I had it at 17 maybe an hour before flu symptoms hit. Long story short, I can't even smell it now without getting sick.

Didn't see it mentioned, but maybe I missed it.

Big thumbs up for Steak N Shake. And Skyline.

That would be a good combo.

The Carl's Jr. - Green Burrito combo had a great shirt-lived radio spot:

Woman: What the -bleep- is Green Burrito?
    Announcer: Hey, take it easy.

I was cracking up while driving when I first heard it.

Not sure why, but Denny's kills both IHOP and Appleby's if you're on the road and need some Generica dining.

Oh, and @Huggy: Not sure if it's in Ontario, but the White Spot chain of restaurants in B.C./western Canada is top-notch. Kids meals come in a cardboard pirate ship! We just missed the one day each year that adult sandwiches/sides get the pirate ship treatment.

The two-story Denny's in downtown Tegucigalpa would give this one a run for its money.

I'm not sure I've ever disagreed with a restaurant review more. I remember reading a story where they asked chefs to rank chain steaks and almost universally they all agreed Outback was the best choice. This guy, well, he did not agree.

And IHOP is perfectly serviceable. It's no Waffle House, but it'll do.

I did learn that General Mills started the Olive Garden chain, though. I had no idea.

Which is better, Applebee's or Cracker Barrel? Our critic ranks America’s most popular chains.

Ha, I just read that story. I will agree about BDubs. It's horrid. Outback used to be a really safe road spot but their steak quality has plummeted.
