The Special C0unsel's Office has made very few comments. Notable that this one uses the word "criminal" twice in twenty-five words.

 

As to the whole "illegal/improper" gathering of emails by team Mueller, the presidential transition is government funded, and anything sent on government computers or from .gov is subject to government review.

He doesn't have the authority to fire Mueller. The question is: Does he plan on ordering his underlings who can to do it?

He's still got enough votes to get it through, but if a couple of people flip -- not likely -- the Twitter storm on McCain figures to be epic.

 

They don't get the chance to not turn them over. Mueller got the emails back in August, but apparently Trump's people just realized it. That's why they're running around with their hair on fire and screaming. Note that they are not appealing to the court to declare them inadmissable, but to Congress.

 

The Trump defense team has nothing on a legal basis. All they have is a national propaganda outlet, a significant percentage of officeholders in one of the two political parties who are cool with treason if it keeps them in power and millions of Americans for whom the feeling of impotent rage has become an addictive drug. PS: I forgot their best weapon. The desire of millions more Americans not to believe the reality of the situation. Who wants to hate and fear their neighbor unless they're already a Trump fan?
