The conservative most likely to post it as evidence from 2009 until 2017 is now insisting that the economy is great. Was said conservative poster lying then? Or is he lying now?

I'd ask him directly, but when confronted with a difficult question, he usually just pretends he never saw it.

The thing is, she's not nasty to the people who are nasty to her. It would be one thing if she were nasty to Daily Kos and such. Instead, she's mean to the Obamas and others. Not that the Obamas are delicate flowers or anything. But she doesn't get to just fire on everyone with the excuse that fringe liberal sites were mean to her.

I was just thinking: What if this were a black family? What's the likely outcome?

I was thinking more along sj lines. The thread when she was announced as the VP pick devolved into some nasty shit. From feminists even!

I don't know how really ambitious people manage to raise normal kids, and maybe they frequently don't. You often hear about the offspring of athletes and entertainers and politicians gone wild, for example. But even at the law firm, the associates and partners I worked with would be there until all hours of the night, or flit off to some trial out of state for weeks at a time. I guess journalists do it, too, sometimes. But it didn't seem quite as bad.

    Appropos of nothing ...

Mrs. Whitman used the word "partiarchy" in conversation with me this morning.

I told her not to bring that shit in my house.

I would have long talks with one of my co-workers who was at my level, and also had two young kids. We both were from pretty humble backgrounds - his parents were immigrants from Pakistan - and were trying to balance the hours the job demanded and the demands of raising children. I know his wife would get pissed a lot about what the firm would ask him to do. He's still there, though, grinding his way to being wealthy, and he'll get there. I know at least one person here thinks I'm a fucking loser for it, but it seems best - at least for my family - for me to leave at a certain time of day and be home at a certain time of day, with predictable weekends, etc.

Maybe I'll find the spark of ambition again in a few years.

Anyway, it's not shocking to me that someone like Palin who has a million kids and also huge ambition, would have some fucked up kids. And I would say the same about a man in the same position.

I wish to throw my hat into the ring to become leader of the partiarchy. It’s me or Spuds McKenzie.
