At this point, arguing about Sarah Palin's qualifications is pointless and a waste of time we could be using to disagree about everything else. But lack of qualifications had zilch to do with the vitriol directed at Palin.

Next time you're in the office, find a woman who isn't particularly qualified for her job and call her names. If you truly believe lack of qualifications is a justification for such, you will be protected by your righteousness.

Yes, most people on this board are unqualified to be vice president, a position that is one heartbeat away from control of there nuclear codes. They're not running for the gig, either.

Her credentials absolutely deserved to be questioned. To let that go simply because she claimed to be a Christian represents abdication of responsibility. It is fair and necessary to ask the sort of questions she was asked. To wit, if she became POTUS, could she promise the American people that she would not view her ascendancy as divine endorsement of policies that hastened the end times?

While standing before the congregation that day, Palin allowed the pastor and another minister to lay hands on her and to pray that the Lord would give her wisdom and strength to make the right decisions about “natural resources” as Alaska becomes “a refuge for the lower forty-eight” in “the last days.”

 

What about deriding Pocahontas in the presence of Native American war heroes?

As to people like Jerry Falwell and that segment of the base, don't be duped. They don't love Jews. They want Trump to support Israel because they believe such support will hasten the second coming, when Jews will be faced with a choice: turn their backs on their religion or burn in hell for eternity.
