Huh. I wonder if that’s really Steve Bannon’s account, or if it’s a parody.

 

The thing about Palin (and Trump, for that matter) is they seem uninterested or incapable of putting in the work to learn how to do the jobs they wanted. They're the only major ticket candidates I can think of who are like that. I suspect the vast majority of the folks who post on this thread - if somehow they wound up on a major party's ticket - would buckle down and do the homework required. And probably a lot extra.

 

Dude, she was running for vice president of the United States of America.

 

Palin was the governor of an American state when nominated. That is a qualification. Rightly or wrongly, people assume governors know at least something about governing. It was her poor campaign appearances and above all her resignation from office in 2009 and subsequent grift career that have shaped her current image.

 

I suspect Palin actually knew stuff about running Alaska. It was the rest of the country (and the world) where things began to unravel.

Sure. And, tell me, what could Obama have “learned” about Iran or Cuba that would have changed his thinking?

Maybe Obama was more interested in details, but he let his pre-existing world view guide his decisions.
