A lot of big farmers are going to love it. But less than 10 percent of farmers nationwide are going to see a benefit from it. My father-in-law will benefit from it since he sells more than $1 million in product annually. It could hurt the farm operation of which I'm part owner, because we're only doing $250,000 or so per year.

Also, the repeal of a provision which allows farm co-op members to deduce expenses has raised a lot of uncertainty. They changed it to allow some other deductions, but nobody is sure if this will be a net gain or loss. A lot of it will be determined by the size of the farming operation.

Finally, there's a lot of concern about the cuts Congress will have to make in the future to deal with the debt. The Farm Bill is up for renewal in 2018 (or maybe '19). You've already got the Heritage Foundation wanting it to be eliminated. Now they'll be able to sell it as a way to reduce the debt.

We will see a Congress enact full Soviet-style communism before we'll see one get rid of the Farm Bill.

But there's no such thing as climate change! Aren't "rising seas" two of the seven words they're not allowed to use at the EPA?

Many will now pay taxes on the state and local property taxes they pay (over 10k), money that helps pay for their local public schools.

But now you can deduct up to $10k for private-school education.

Let's help further destroy public education! Winning!

And if anybody is curious about those companies suddenly "spending" their tax savings on workers - the ones I've seen all have pending business deals that will rely on the good graces of the Exec. branch. Gutting the CFPB, defense contracts, a big merger....
