The quotes from that NYT story should concern Trump’s backers. They won’t. But his lack of understanding of how the government works will be his downfall.

 

The way in which the government works is the primary target for his most fervent supporters. That kind of thing will only endear Trump to them even more.

Trump walks around like he's the king of the world, but he's not. He wants to be king of the world, fervently wants that to happen, but it won't, and it can't, because Trump is a fucking dolt for this job. Has no idea of what the presidency is, has no understanding of what global politics require, has no idea of how to work with cross-team dynamics.

So Trump will keep insulting the world outside us just to feed his fifth-grade, little-boy ego, and one by one those countries might turn against us. Makes less matter when it's Syria or Cuba or Puerto Rico (note to Trump: not a foreign country! They're Americans, too!), but what happens if our major allies start turning against us? Trump already has insulted Britain, Germany, China, France, Mexico, Canada, NATO, etc. What happens if we wake up one day and realize that we have 100 nations aligned against us because we keep insisting on bullying the rest of the world?

The world once was nervous about the Soviet Union. The world now is worried about the United States.

 

Only the best white nationalists get to intern for Trump.
