Plus, regular people are sometimes way more interesting than the celebrities (or "celebrities" of the CBS reality show variety, since I couldn't ID the Big Brother duo if they walked up to me on the street and stared me in the face) that are stunt casted.

There's a few more spots left. This premieres next Wednesday, so let me know if you're in! I'll probably draw teams Monday or Tuesday at the latest. :)

Here's the pool! Reminder, premiere is tomorrow night!

    nietsroob17 - Lucas & Brittany
    MTM - Cedric & Shawn
    Huggy - Cody & Jessica
    TigerVols - Alexander and Conor
bumpy mcgee - April & Sarah
    WCIBN - Henry & Evan
    Iron_chet - Joey & Tim
    WolvEagle - Dessie and Kayla
Write Thinking - Eric & Daniel
    Wenders - Kristi and Jen

Same as always - we're one short of having a full pool, so if one of our teams is eliminated tomorrow night, they can get Trevor & Chris.

We get a photo finish for the first episode! WOW! Also, the NBA guys are suuuuuper lucky.

Iceland looks beautiful. (I'm sure some of y'all find Iceland beautiful in a different way than I find Iceland beautiful. As in, Miss Iceland.)

    Pool update:
    Wenders - Kristi & Jen 21
    Huggy - Cody & Jessica 10
    WCIBN - Henry & Evan 9
    Trevor & Chris 8
TigerVols - Alexander and Conor 7
    Iron_chet - Joey & Tim 6
    nietsroob17 - Lucas & Brittany 5
    WriteThinking - Eric & Daniel 4
    MTM - Cedric & Shawn 3
    bumpy mcgee - April & Sarah 2
    *WolvEagle - Dessie & Kayla 1

(Wolv, you want our string players?) (also, two guys that look like they spend 3 hours a day in the gym should not be playing violin. I really might have to go hunt them down and convince one of them to move to Texas.)

    Yes, please.

My thought last night was that didn't take long for my team to be eliminated ... but I didn't want to post a spoiler for those not in the Eastern time zone!

I was happy to get the NBA guys as my team, but I'm not sure how long they will last. They got lucky last night.

I've watched every season, and that's the first time I can recall a penalty for helping a teammate.

Supposedly, the premiere was supposed to be 90 minutes, and when they cut it to an hour, the Detour was cut. I'm now curious of what it was.

I was thinking there was another team penalized for giving extra help to their teammate during the Road Block but I can't find it right now.

I was wondering about all the shopping bags, too :).

I was happy to see Iceland. The photo editor of my college newspaper was an Icelandic native who was in the foreign-exchange program there. I've seen him a couple of times since then when he has returned to the U.S. again for visits.

My favorite moments from last night's episode:

1). When the Big Brother team moved into first place (temporarily, it turned out) by beating the Yale team in the IceSpell task. It seemed like neither pair could believe it:).

2). I also chuckled when Henry, tired of getting mud in his eye, and unable to see the letters/numbers very well because of it, asked his dune-buggy driver, "Can you drive a little slower?"

That crazy race to the mat was one of the rare times you see the crew, and I can never recall a penalty for helping a teammate during a road block either.

Iceland looks awesome, know a couple of people who have been there and they say it is spectacular and insanely expensive.

Ok, who in here would NOT have gone for the printing press challenge?!?! That was seriously cool - I've always kind of wondered how newspapers went back in the days before computers. (I'm a relative youngster here, so I have never designed a paper/magazine before Adobe products.) Also, I suck at math so I would have done the printing press challenge in no time and been there all night on the damn diamonds challenge.

Also, I would have shat myself on that ladder on a crane thing. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE *enters ocean, middle finger up* That brought back residual trauma from having to climb the f'ing rope in middle school gym class, and that was INDOORS not attached to a MOVING CRANE with what looked like a sturdy wind.

Man, I felt bad for poor Henry and Evan, having to do that dolly race course so many times. I kept yelling to stay to the middle because they kept clipping the curb on that first big left turn and it was all over.
