Vape shops are popping up everywhere, but I predict they will all go busto in less than 10 years.

And, vaping is not "safe," at least not that we can conclusively say. "Safer than cigarettes" isn't a ringing endorsement.

I see all the greatest hits are being rolled out to distract from the book... Clinton emails, Clinton Foundation. Oh, and a new one, prosecute Steele.

Not gonna work. And history is not going to look kindly on this band of Trump enablers.

But, if you are working with a doctor, to find the right medication to combat depression, any drug/medication that is not prescribed is dangerous.

And, Wallace wasn't just a guy who dealt with depression. He'd specifically battled suicidal urges for years.

He was also very specifically trying to find a new medication regime that would work for him, and have fewer side effects.

If he was also smoking marijuana, or drinking alcohol, or taking any other non-prescribed drug, he was literally putting his life in grave danger.

I'm not sure how this is even controversial to say.

 

Or if he was drinking a lot of coffee?

 

Especially if it was booze, which kills people. Marijuana does not.

 

Sure. If he was ingesting a lot of caffeine, and hadn't talked about it, and cleared it, with his doctors, that would be foolish, and dangerous.

This really isn't complicated.

What do people think marijuana does? You can't both claim it gives you a great high, and also say that it does nothing to the brain.

THC’s chemical structure is similar to the brain chemical anandamide. Similarity in structure allows the body to recognize THC and to alter normal brain communication.

Endogenous cannabinoids such as anandamide function as neurotransmitters because they send chemical messages between nerve cells (neurons) throughout the nervous system. They affect brain areas that influence pleasure, memory, thinking, concentration, movement, coordination, and sensory and time perception. Because of this similarity, THC is able to attach to molecules called cannabinoid receptors on neurons in these brain areas and activate them, disrupting various mental and physical functions and causing the effects described earlier. The neural communication network that uses these cannabinoid neurotransmitters, known as the endocannabinoid system, plays a critical role in the nervous system’s normal functioning, so interfering with it can have profound effects.

For example, THC is able to alter the functioning of the hippocampus and orbitofrontal cortex, brain areas that enable a person to form new memories and shift his or her attentional focus. As a result, using marijuana causes impaired thinking and interferes with a person’s ability to learn and perform complicated tasks. THC also disrupts functioning of the cerebellum and basal ganglia, brain areas that regulate balance, posture, coordination, and reaction time.

How does marijuana produce its effects?

This is a problem in the high school where I teach. Kids ask to go to the bathroom at coordinated times and come back smelling like strawberries. Pretty sure they may be lacing it with pot but you can't smell it at all.
