Scenes that would never fly after #MeToo

Fwiw, here's that Body Heat scene referenced earlier. This SO wouldn't fly today. The whole premise is that it was cool for him to commit felonies because the married woman's eyes said she wanted it.

In the 80s that scene was considered awesome.

 

Are we counting the noise ordinance John Cusack was breaking in Say Anything...?

 

Binge-watching Cheers on Netflix, it occurred to me that Sam would be piling up the sexual harassment complaints with Diane and Rebecca.

 

That's not the kind of scene I'm talking about. That movie - as I understand it, I've never seen it - is a revenge tale. The rapists get theirs in the end.

What I'm talking about are scenes that are played as romantic or erotic or cute that would no longer be seen that way.

 

The weird butt sex scene in the second Harry Potter movie.

 

The whole plot of Overboard is pretty fucked up, but I loved that movie as a kid.

 

One of my favorite John Wayne movies ("The Quiet Man") has one of those scenes:

 

That pornstache on Hurt certainly wouldn't be allowed today.

 

He drags her around pretty violently near the end, and kicks and spanks her, too, as I recall -- much to the approval of the whole town.
