Time for new marketing people, and a new PR team.

Lawyer Brittany Pape wrote to Eataly on Dec. 20, complaining that a wine ad displayed at the Chicago store that urged customers to “BRING HOME AN ITALIAN. GREAT LEGS, BETTER BODY” was “tone deaf” considering the sexual misconduct allegations against Eataly partner Mario Batali. Batali subsequently issued an apology, The New York Times reported.

I wonder how much residue lands on Wahlberg. Reports are that he wouldn't okay Plummer replacing Spacey without the payday. If an Oscar winner like Sorvino suddenly becomes less hirable because she wouldn't submit to Weinstein - how do you hire an actor who will hold a movie hostage for a payday?

I'm going to get run over here, but I don't see the shame in Wahlberg asking for more money for more work. The shame is that Michelle Williams didn't get paid. They all should have been paid. It wasn't their fault Spacey turned out to be a dirtbag.

Wasn’t it just better agent work for Wahlberg? His initial contract didn’t address re-shoots, while Williams’ contract required her to commit to them.

That’s kind of how I’ve felt about the pay gap controversy in general. I’m not saying women should be paid less, but it seems to me like agents doing their job poorly if they can’t get, say, Jennifer Lawrence or Emma Stone, top of the industry pay.

Initially, that's how I felt as well. And granted I don't know the contract language - but the report is that he wouldn't sign off on Plummer until they met his price. It sounds like this movie was more important to Williams than Wahlberg - and that's fine - you just wonder if the hits he is taking is worth that $1.5 mil. The lack of response from his camp is really damaging his image.

Those Wahlburgers suck, too. Your mileage may vary.

I'm with you on this....Wahlberg is a notorious stickler. He does not get out of bed without being paid for it. You might think he's greedy, but is it his fault for for doing (as a person) the same thing someone negotiating for a studio would do? According to the USA Today story, Williams agreed to do it for so little because she believed in the cause. I think that's great, but if Wahlberg says, "Nope," is he a bad guy or is he a businessman?

After all, the studio cut Spacey for Plummer because it was a better business decision.

Exactly. Why shouldn't the studio take the hit? Or Ridley Scott? They're the ones who employed Spacey, not Wahlberg or Williams.
