He defends Trump, that's the only possible connection to racism I've seen. If there's a "long history", I missed it.

I guess this is true of several things in this administration, but the shithole thing in particular feels like it's coming from an episode of Veep.

 

I don't read your work very much, to be honest. It's not my kind of writing. Don't get me wrong. It's pretty good, for what it is. But I prefer the New Yorker style. I'm a clarity guy, not a phrase-turning/beautiful sentence guy. Your work insists upon itself.

 

This is so reminiscent of the tribalism of Elks meetings.
