This ties into the thread about social media/tribes, but I read the Sullivan piece and thought it had some great points in it. There were also several things I disagreed with. Which happens with an opinion piece. About an hour later I saw Sullivan was trending on Twitter and I didn't even have to click on his name to know the reaction. But I did and I was right: universal condemnation/disgust, much of it written in the vocabulary unique to Twitter. The social-media media world is just so predictable these days, and, usually, boring.

 

Thank you. I tried the one in Orlando. Fucking awful. The Wahlbergs shouldn't quit their day jobs.

 

Weird-tasting burger, tater tots from the freezer and a Coke, all for ... $14? "Fuck," I said. "That wasn't worth 8 bucks."

 

Also, fries (or tots, or onion rings) as an a la carte item? Fuck that. Offer a Value Meal, at least. Include the drink, too.

 

This seemed like a ridiculous controversy, but some good came of it.

You kind of knew that was how the Wahlberg thing was going to play out. And yes, the talent does have the right to ask for every dime they can get. Sometimes when people say it isn't about the money, it actually isn't - but the money guarantees that they won't be screwed with or taken advantage of.

 

Feels even a bit creepier because I just caught a few minutes of True Lies, which is airing on AMC right now.
