    Just call them shitholes.

This Winnipeg talk makes me think of the portrait of the Queen that hung in the rafters of the old dump arena. Fucking huge looking up from the ice. She still in storage?

I’ve seen Memphis lumped in with the shitholes a couple of times here today. I’m going later this year so guess I’ll find out for myself.

The provincial bird is a mosquito. It’s the West Virginia of Canada.

The state bird of MN is the mosquito, so we have common ground.

And we have Wisconsin next door.

My worst hotel experience, by far, was in Seattle, yet the city and the food were incredible. I haven't been in years, but I'd like to get back, and maybe even live there one day.

Because I like Seattle so much, I've always romanticized Portland. I've somehow never been, and after PC's post I'm thinking maybe I had it all wrong in my head.

IIRC, Portland has invested a lot in very nice bicycle routes.

Yeah I have some love for it.

The city is really a big small town. Many people still care where you went to high school and every ex Winnipegger I have ever met I can play 1 degree of separation with and we have someone in common.

Winnipeg has great neighborhoods with beautiful homes and trees. Because they have never had a crazy economic boom there are some very cool old (by N American standards) buildings and areas.

The summers are amazing depending on the mosquitoes and the proximity to all kinds of lake country is awesome.

Winnipeg has the most attractive women of any Canadian city.

So an easy city to bag on but happy to not live there.
