I don't have a problem with an on-side kick there, but the execution by Boswell was awful.

    Great clock management there, Pittsburgh.

Please, just fire Tomlin and be done with this.

The onside kick gives you an extra chance, albeit small, of getting the ball back.

Any sort of decent kick, even if you don't recover it, you figure should go to the 46-48 yard lines. Then you still need a stop and then they punt the ball back to you.

Boswell's kick was so shitty, it put them in field goal range.

Fourth-and-long. The Steelers have the Jaguars' defense where they want them.

  7. Honestly, I like the way the game wa called. The refs didn't decide the game. No game-changing PI plays.

Smart move by Bell to stay in bounds. You only have 20 seconds remaining.

Seriously. You hit your own player five yards from the line of scrimmage?

That was Brown, and he clearly screwed that up. He has to step out there and give his team a shot.

Roethlisberger threw for 469 yards and five touchdowns against the top pass defense in the league and lost. Yes, his two turnovers were killers, but that defense is truly horrific.

Also, I've come around to thinking the on-side kick was a mistake. If anything, the Jaguars are even more likely to just run it three times deep in their own end and clearly they couldn't stop Roethlisberger in that fourth quarter.

Let's not forget that Boswell has a long, proud tradition of screwing up onside kicks.
