The hot takes generated by this story are piling up.

And, women seem to be both the most critical of her, and of him.

I feel like The Atlantic piece - whose author is a woman - shed some light, in subtle ways, on a possible read of the psychology. I’m not sure that read is very fair to ol “Grace,” the 23-year-old photographer at an after Emmy’s party with a date, but here’s one such line:

“Apparently there is a whole country full of young women who don’t know how to call a cab, and who have spent a lot of time picking out pretty outfits for dates they hoped would be nights to remember.”

How many Web sites passed on this story before Babe took it?

And how many stories like this are out there that have been rejected by other Web sites?

And, once those rejected stories know Babe will take a story of this caliber, how many, you know, pitch their story to Babe?

Because if Aziz Ansari shows up on a Jon Oliver panel, maybe Oliver, will “oh COME ON AZIZ!” him, too.

Yeah, and there will continue to be fewer and fewer whoever need to know how to call a cab with Uber, Lyft and future car apps that pop up.

Oh, I don’t think that’s the point she’s making by juxtaposing those two things.

Assuming the veracity of the woman's anonymous account, I don't understand how Aziz Ansari is the victim here. The account is horrifying, if you try to put yourself in Grace's shoes. She is at this man's apartment, on a first date, and he absolutely will not take no for an answer.

This is sexual assault. I wouldn't even push my wife like this:

Ansari also physically pulled her hand towards his penis multiple times throughout the night, from the time he first kissed her on the countertop onward. “He probably moved my hand to his dick five to seven times,” she said. “He really kept doing it after I moved it away.”

There are multiple instances throughout the story where she tries to slow things down, he says he agrees and, next thing you know, he's trying to get things going again.

Why didn't she just leave? Why didn't she just call a cab?

    Let Margaret Atwood answer that:

"Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them."

She wanted to end things as non-confrontationally as possible. He kept agreeing to back off - then going back on that agreement.

    What a jerk.

Not sure it was a strong juxtaposition. I get the outfits line but it's wholly separate from the cab dig.

    Oh, and some levity:

Only the most millennial millennial sexual assault story of all time would include, without irony, the photo of the meal the two people ate on their date.

    Because of course it would.
