Hmm. So, no marriage, but you’d be willing to live with someone?

I can see becoming jaded, and not wanting to risk ever having to deal with another divorce, but wonder how having that as a ground rule might preclude any further relationships.

Mrs. Whitman knows I’m giving this one shot. One. If I ever leave her (I won’t), she knows it won’t be for another woman.

I think some conservatives may be having too much fun with this, but has the hook up culture itself put a lot of pressure on women, to their detriment?

I mentioned 'round here several years ago my first cousin ... one of many, but the one I was pretty close to ... and his leaving/divorcing his wife (mother of his two sons). Among his stated reasons for leaving/divorcing her was that she wasn't that good in the sack. I remember thinking, sheesh, how bad's she gotta be to making blowing up your kids' lives something you'd really consider?

I didn’t read the book, but people’s attitudes toward relationships and sex have, for the most part, evolved for the better since the ‘60s, at least from my POV. What makes you think “this gets worse for women all the time”?

And I believe many women and many men are capable of walking away after lustful sex, and at the same time I believe many men and many women prefer sex as part of a deeper relationship.

    No nup.
I may change my mind, someone may come along and knock me off my feet. But my mindset now is nope, not again. Done that. I'm enjoying my current life, more than I ever thought I would when it was thrust upon me rather suddenly.
I haven't had what could be called a real "relationship" since the marriage went ka-blooey. I've made a lot of friends, been on a number of dates, had enough, um, ah, you know, to keep me reasonably satisfied.
Folks would say I'm in a bit of a selfish stage and they're not wrong. For now, I'm not changing.

Edit because I just saw that part: Not willing to live with someone, either, not right now. I can leave folded laundry on the bed while I'm at work and no one says shit. The dog's bowls are where I want them. The cabinets are set up as I want them. The TV is where I want it. I can leave the door open when I'm on the can and play whatever the hell music I want whenever the hell I want.

It's a good life and I'm not eager to change it any time soon.

    About babe.net ...

Mitzali, 24, told Mashable over email that the site started as an "experiment" about a year and a half ago.

At that time, she was an editor at The Tab, an online publication founded by University of Cambridge students in 2009. The Tab has since received a $4 million investment from Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. and has spread to 80 universities in the UK and U.S. The site runs mainly off of student contributors posting stories on campus-based editions of The Tab, like those at Arizona State University, Harvard, and University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
