From the reports my wife relays to me from the mom blogs, that rings true. A lot of moms sound like they hate their husbands, and don’t much love being moms either.

Yeah, I’d have to know more about what that means.

It takes two to have great sex, but both partners have to be pretty disinterested or selfish for it to be downright bad.

I see a lot of FB memes about tired, overworked moms. I laugh.

The ex-wife re-married within a couple of years and she and hubby No. 2 appear to be doing just fine. Ole cuz is still all by his lonesome, so I suspect his characterization of her carnal skills was, like many of his affectations, so much bullshit.

This is all so interesting to me.

Is @Dick Whitman right? Would we be seeing a completely different reaction if this woman’s date had been Eric Trump?

Some women just seem so pissed about this.

I'm not so sure their attitudes have "evolved." Seems a lot of the stuff we're reading about -- and this could be publication bias, sure -- involves men (and not just lecherous old farts) behaving badly in a timelessly stereotypical fashion. Further, for all this purported increase in sophistication w.r.t. relationships and sex, we sure do read a lot about how alcohol, and lots of it, factors prominently into today's hookup scene. It strikes me as odd that today's generation, supposedly so good at all this, needs to get likkered up to get lathered up just like we did in the bad old days.

I don’t know. Young people now are definitely smarter and have been raised by (hopefully) more enlightened people on the whole. Just like every other bad behavior, maybe we hear of more instances because it’s amplified by the Internet? And good old ‘70s, pre-AIDS promiscuity was just as alcohol- and drug-fueled as today’s “hookup” scene.

I think that’s kind of DQ’s point, though. These aren’t the sexual sophisticates they are portrayed as, engaging in a uber-satisfying new kind of “hook-up culture.” These are just drunk, horny lads and lasses, fumbling toward ecstasy, same as it ever was.

They're not very smooth at it. How could they be? They interact less in person than ever before.

Jesus, you old farts make a lot of generalizations about young people.

The only generalization about young people I'll make is that they're young.
