I'm referring to him putting his penis on her body after he explicitly saying she didn't want to have sex with him that night.

I believe her. She didn't want to have intercourse, and clammed up when she realized it might be heading that way.

Alright. So that's one cue in each direction, then.

Having not read the story, was the hand-to-penis placing done during a makeout session or just while they were talking?

A lot of this is because people from this generation are used to living their lives in public, posting things all over social media. When the public is mostly just their friends and family, they get positive feedback for the most part. When the public becomes THE PUBLIC, it's a little different result.

I don't know if Katie Way expected her email to be put out there for all to see, but she should have at least anticipated it. I don't think the blowback from it will be something she likes.

Grace's experience is hers to do what she wishes with, but I'm not wild about the fact that she decided to anonymously punish the guy for wearing a Time's Up pin. Hell, as I alluded to earlier, considering the timeline, maybe she was the one that caused him to become genuinely woke. She told him how she felt about the encounter. He unequivocally apologized. It seems like a strange step to me, four months down the road.

Worth reading when considering Ashleigh Banefield's credentials vs. Katie Wey's "Has accomplished a lot at 22, thanks!"

Yeah, she acted like a horse's ass there.

What is it have to do with the words on the page, though?

Little, but I think the maturity of the reporter matters when it comes to credibility. You're big on whether the Times asked, with uncomfortable skepticism, whether Louis CK asked the female comedians for consent. (It's clear he did in many instances. Women admitted as much.) Do you think Wey considered Grace's account with any skepticism, however uncomfortable that question may have been? She's "the bravest person" Wey has ever met. Was she playing journalist or MeToo activist here? Banfield got fired for questioning the cheerleading of war by the public, and the US government. She wanted to tell stories that didn't fit any easy narrative. That was hella uncomfortable and probably cost Banefield a much more lucrative career. Wey thinks she's a lipstick jockey with bad highlights and crows feet. I think even if she wrote the exact same story, she could benefit from some of Banefield's cautious skepticism in her career.

She should be more skeptical. Like the Washington Post.
