    That is way too conspiratorial.

Occam's Razor: A young reporter got ahold of a story that felt like a career-maker, and she went for it.

I am not sure where you are going with this. What do you want to happen with him?

Or...when people have the opportunity to not become a victim maybe they should take that opportunity. If she left in the beginning when she first started being uncomfortable then she gets out of the situation and also gives him a great "non verbal clue".

I don't know much of his work, but I heard a freakonomics podcast on him. He was pitching a book he co-wrote on modern romance. He was described as a traditionalist. Is this an image he was maintaining (relationship sage) until this came out?

I hate this line of thinking.

His name is forever attached to sexual assault in some people’s minds. How is that no big deal?

I'm with you here. We've had this argument here before. About Patrick Kane. Duke lacrosse. Others either falsely or flimsily accused. It's still typically a reputation hit. There are people who will never believe an accused person is innocent. They must have done something. Remember Old_Tony would not concede that here has been a single wrongful conviction in the United States in the last 30 years, for anything.

It's not like he still can't be president.

Probably so, but if Rebekah Brooks is the boss, it's not entirely out of the question, either.

Phone-hacking trial was officially about crime; but in reality, it was about power

I’m married, with a young child.

If I had to admit to giving and receiving oral sex, I’d be in pretty big trouble at home.

If I was a single, young, rich/famous guy, living in NYC, who received tons of unsolicited support —from feminists even — I’m not sure I’d be too upset.

It’s a little invasive, but anyone’s sex life could be portrayed as weird if told by someone else.

But, let’s be real. It’s not like he asked her to watch Shark Week.

This is evasive. The reputation hit isn't because he gave and received oral sex. It's because he's accused of pressuring a woman for sex after she indicated she didn't want to have sex.
