LOL. Rupert has bigger fish to fry.

He got had the WSJ imply that his ex-wife was a Chinese spy in the last week. I think that puts Ansari a little lower on his to do list.

What do I want to happen to him? I don't really give a shit. I was only marginally aware of the guy before this.

The market will decide what happens to him. I'm fine with that.

Just like Patrick Kane and Ben Roethlisberger.

I don't think Kane even lost a night's sleep over the accusation against him.

Especially given the far more serious accusations against others, this will be quickly forgotten. Hell, the hot takes will be better remembered than the original story. Lots of folks, like @lakefront only read the coverage of the story, and aren't even familiar with the actual claims made against him.

If his name comes up in the history of the #MeToo movement, it won't be as a perpetrator, but as the story that broke the momentum of the movement.

What ground can you possibly have to make this assertion?

I’m sure his family loves these stories. And Kame did suffer fianacislly he lost sponsors.

Who the hell are we to judge what someone else has lost or hasn’t. It’s not always financial.

This might be his Michael Sam hockey moment.

Appropos of nothing, the idea of being single at age 34, like Ansari, is almost beyond my comprehension. Not that it is shameful or even unusual. It's just difficult for me to imagine.

Right, but as long as it's viewed simply as a guy who had already given and received oral sex from a woman, who pressured her for intercourse, but didn't get it, accepted that, and then hung out with her and watched Seinfeld, he's good.

The Devil is in the details, and, if you've only followed the coverage of the story, and not the actual story, there's no damage.

She's a little bit nutty, and a little bit slutty. Poor guy. Hopefully his next date goes better.

The difference between Aziz Ansari and Ben Roethlisberger, Patrick Kane, and Kobe Bryant is that Ben Roethlisberger, Patrick Kane, and Kobe Bryant built their reputations on playing football, hockey, and basketball, respectively.

Aziz Ansari built his reputation on not raping.

This is absolutely how I have processed a lot of the prominent think pieces.

I went from thinking that I was never going to have a date as a grown-up to being permanently attached so quickly and unexpectedly that I still have whiplash, 17 years later.
