I’m glad y’all have (seemingly) come to some resolution over this, because in checking in on this thread’s last few pages ... I don’t know what in the sam hell y’all have been arguing over.

You really think there aren't women who would go in thinking he would behave differently with them? That's funny.

So is he coming out of this "pretty much completely unscathed" or not? You're arguing out of both sides of your mouth.

Never mind. I'm going to the coffee shop.

Yet another example of YankeeFan the coward posting about me while claiming he is hiding behind the button.

You're not alone. Dick is arguing that Ansari has been deeply affected by accusations that have also left him pretty much completely unscathed, so that doesn't fucking help.

No, I'm not. I'm not arguing that he's scathed. I'm explaining why the stakes are different for him, professionally, than they are a trio of athletes. The situations are not one-to-one.

That's not at all what I said.

"The reputation hit isn't because he gave and received oral sex. It's because he's accused of pressuring a woman for sex after she indicated she didn't want to have sex."

    Also:

"We've had this argument here before. About Patrick Kane. Duke lacrosse. Others either falsely or flimsily accused. It's still typically a reputation hit. There are people who will never believe an accused person is innocent. They must have done something."

    "Deeply affected"?

So, to sum up Dick's arguments over the last few pages of this thread:

    1. Even false accusations can stain someone's reputation.

    2. Aziz Ansari is in a particularly precarious situation, relative to athletes, because his career is built in part on his reputation for not raping people.

    3. Aziz Ansari, one week removed from these widely reported allegations, has emerged "pretty much completely unscathed."

Gaslighting Dick is my least favourite Dick.
