    It just seems, like... I know this sounds hopelessly naive, and I understand that politics are politics, but millions of people's lives are affected by this shit. Like, literally millions of people (including millions of children) are affected by this legislation or its absence. It seems needlessly cruel to hold them hostage no matter the purpose.

    No CHIP and no DACA, no deal. Both can be passed at any time and you know it. So spare me with this. Republicans have misplayed this badly trying to make it a Sophie’s Choice.
