I hope you didn’t bring your kids anywhere within earshot of Dave Leitao. They’d learn some new words!

    Trae scored 48 today.

    He took 39 shots.

    Okie Lite won.

What’s funny is that Butler’s coach is the one who got teed up.

I wish DePaul would be relevant again. When I was a kid they were bigger than the Bulls.

I have a soft spot for city schools with no/irrelevant football teams. DePaul, Marquette, Georgetown, St. John’s, the Philly schools. I always root for them at least a little.

Leitao has actually been mic’d up for a few games this year. He must be a bit more mellow if they’ve gotten anything useable for broadcast.

Must have cut back on the MFers and calling players pussies.

I’m no prude when it comes to cussing, but Leitao just had no creativity with it. Give me Gary Williams, who always astounded me whenever I could hear him. The man would put together strings of profanities that would make your head spin. He was an artist working in a medium that was made for him.

Williams back at BC in the early '80s when they played in the old Roberts Center was amazing. Place was smaller than many a high school gym and he could be heard in the cheap seats. Always wondered what the many priests in attendance thought. Actually I knew, they loved him. When they played Jim Calhoun's Northeastern teams, it was a clinic in college coach as bad opera star in a death scene.

Fox Sports mic'd up Leitao and Ed Cooley for the DePaul-Providence game a few weeks back and users could listen to the mics by using the Fox Sports Go app. Cooley's feed was nothing short of amazing. Not for the faint of heart.

I was at a press table at an NCAA subregional in the '90s one row behind Bob Huggins as his team was getting dismantled by Temple. Nothing could top that.

Maybe the new arena will help. Was there a deader arena in college basketball than the Rosemont Horizon in the 1990s onward?

Saw my first Dead show at the Rosemont Horizon in '93. Stayed in Elgin.

I saw Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M., and Beastie Boys there. (Not all at once.)
