Agreed, I really enjoyed his initial comeback tun, when he teamed with Cody before the Stardust stuff.

It'll be tough because Larry (I presume you're not referring to Curtis) never did a whole lot with the WW(W)F.

Ortons will do it, especially if they ever retroactively celebrate Bob Sr. You've got the Armstrongs potentially with Road Dogg (as DX or the Outlaws), the Usos with Rikishi down the road, Goldy or Cody (if he ever comes back) with Dusty, Rock of course with Rocky and the High Chief.

Also realized there's already been another father-son: Blackjack and Barry Windham (with the Horsemen).

That hasn't stopped them before. Sting wrestled all of two matches in the WWE, presumably just so they could say he was eligible for the Hall of Fame, and they put him in. There's probably some other old-timers who were predominantly known for their time in other promotions who are in (Harley Race comes to mind, even though he did have a mildly memorable WWF run later in his career).

Wrestling in the WWE isn't a measure of eligibility. I think it was Superstar Billy Graham, in one of his rants, criticized the E for inducting Abdullah the Butcher even though Butcher never had one match with the he company.

So many of these guys, too, might have wrestled a handful of matches in the WWWF as they made their way through the various NWA territories even though they made their names elsewhere. I keep going back to that 1979 MSG show that's up on the network, but it's a great example. The main event was Dusty Rhodes vs. Harley Race -- two guys who weren't "WWF Guys" until much, much later, but still came in for a guest spot on a big show.
Mil Mascaras is another. He probably wrestled for everybody at one time or another, but was never synonymous with the WWF. Yet any pro wrestling hall of fame worth its salt should probably include him if there's any type of connection.

Mascaras has an interesting place in WWE history. He was the first wrestler allowed to wear his full mask at MSG. The Garden and/or New York State had some rules until the late 1970s that we would consider quite silly today. Women weren't allowed to wrestle until 1972 or so, kids under age of 14 weren't permitted to attend MSG shows until, like '76 or '77 (a riot in the late 50s was the rationale, they didn't want kids there) and masked wrestlers were banned.

Masked wrestlers either had to perform with out the mask, or do what El Olympico did, and wear a mask, but have his face be seen (think of a reverse Aldo Montoya, that's how silly he looked.) Mascaras refused to perform unless he could wear his full mask, and the commission and MSG relented. Supposedly, they banned masked wrestlers to avoid claims of defrauding the fans by having different guys under the mask.

Mascaras also, from my understanding, served as the storyline setup for Backlund's title win. He was facing Graham and the Grand Wizard complained over managers being barred from ringside at MSG (done for both for kayfabe and legitimate reasons, namely security). They permitted him to stay "as long as he behaved himself." He didn't, and Mascaras went back to the dressing room and brought Backlund out to even the sides, and set up the next title match.

El Olympico with the mask on and his face uncovered. He looks like he's wearing a bonnet.

Vince can still generate a lot of heat and take a stunner. What a great way to open the show.

    Yeah, it was great.

My father watched the first part, and I think he was even finding it entertaining.

Well, what do we have over here? An alleged rapist?

Also, just for the record, in the last month, we've had rape allegations from the Cruiserweight champion and alleged spousal abuse from his No. 1 contender. Cedric Alexander is getting the opportunity of his life.
