Butch and Sundance were holding their own against the Bolivian Army until depth caught up with them.

They had the inside game to make things interesting, but once they dared the Bolivian shooters to beat them on the outside things went south.

Just saw this again recently and was struck by how the level of mayhem in a 1952 movie, "Narrow Margin."

Cute -- except Rocky lost in the original film.

Someone mentioned the "Bourne" fight scenes, and to me those are the most realistic because nobody who's in a real fight talks or yells. The talking, if it happens, happens before the fight goes down. Real fights, excepts for grunts (and maybe groans), are almost always vocally silent because you're exerting so much energy while trying to hurt someone. At least, that's been my experience.

Someone else mentioned The Matrix, but that's the one that immediately jumped to my mind (Neo vs Morpheus was pretty awesome, too).

This scene from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was amazing:

A couple of old school suggestions for which I am too lazy to pull up clips. 1. The final swordfight between Errol Flynn and Basil Rathbone in Adventures of Robin Hood. 2. In the '60s movie Coogan's Bluff, kind of a prequel to the Dirty Harry films (not in plot, but sensibility) Arizona cop Clint Eastwood cleans out an NYC poolroom full of lowlife bad guys. Intensive use of cues and pool balls as weapons.

This video on WatchMojo is all about one-take fight scenes, though it is television and movies. Sorry, if you're going to go into that category, they need the Frank Castle prison fight in Season 2 of Daredevil. Other than that and the inclusion of a commercial before No. 1, it's not a bad list.

Not so much the style of the fight, but I always love the dialogue and the end result when the Michael Douglas character in "Falling Down" fights off the two gangbangers who confronted him for sitting on their graffiti-filled rock on their turf.
