I don't know why you are 1) misstating the fact; or 2) even getting snarky about that. If you think the field hockey program should be nuked, have the balls to say it.

    Now it's a Woj bomb:

Trust me, it's not lost on me. I don't necessarily want to go around on that again. But if he's going to make thinly veiled posts, at least he can have the guts to say what he wants to say. I know you well enough to know that you would defend yourself in kind.

Fake account. A well-done fake, but fake. The real Woj account is @wojespn.

I don't lack sympathy for your spot here. It's not different than, say, the Weinstein thread or the various Trump discussions. Once the world gets good and frothed about something, and you try to introduce so much as a scrap of nuance, you're a sitting duck.

I could not have said that any better. I bow in your general direction.

One thing I don't think you realize -- you may, but if so you're certainly glossing over it -- is how disconnected a big university like that can be. I've been at my current gig for 15 years and there are dozens of been-around-a-long-time people in my college -- forget my university -- whom I've never actually met. Hell, there were two full professors in my department whom I didn't meet until my second year here.

I bet there are plenty of people in the athletic department there who have been there for years and, until recently, had nary a clue who Nassar was.

Four-time Olympic doctor, for the gold medal-winning gymnastics team? The gymnastics team that gets front and center the first week of the Olympics? Maybe they didn't know in the arts or math department. But the athletic department? Nope, sorry, not buying it.

So that's it. You're equating the USA Gymnastics community with the Michigan State athletic community at large.

There might be a lot of that going around, too.

Success has many fathers. Failure is an orphan.

Guess which stage Michigan State is at right now?
