Tom Petty was a heroin addict in the ’90s. Here’s why he’s finally talking about it.

 

I'm a big fan of Petty's. Did he have No. 1 hits in the past 5-10 years, no, but there was some damn good music he put out that was more than meaningful and was definitely original.

He's written plenty of "great" songs since Mary Jane's Last Dance, perhaps you need to go back and listen to not just the hits.

 

I’m aware of that.
