The TV thread

I have found Lip's and Fiona's storylines to be compelling this year. The Frank Canada thing was dumb. They're giving Kevin and Vee something to do but it's not interesting. Deb is not interesting. Liam being the token black kid used for diversity purposes is not interesting. Carl's stupid little bitch girlfriend/wife is awful. Ian as gay Jesus is absolutely idiotic. The only ones I'm invested in any more are Lip and Fiona.

 

Ryan Murphy's 9-1-1 show on Fox is a fun watch, but pretty ridiculous. Public safety workers would be fired for some of the stuff they pull.

And I'm a fan of Peter Krause, just not buying him as a firefighter.

Also, can we get a cop/fire show where there aren't a million side stories? I don't care about gay dad or sick mom, just put out a fire.

 

I'd rephrase that to say it's pretty ridiculous, but a fun watch. This is suspension of disbelief I can get behind.

 

Does anybody remember a crazy show called 'The Lost Room' starring Peter Krause?
I loved that.

 

After the first episode I asked my firefighter/paramedic brother if he watched it as it was getting good reviews. He had not and said all his friends said it was stupid. Sounds like their descriptions match yours, as far as the stupid scenarios they said the show presented.

Peter Krause looks like he got jacked, though.

 

The original, and still the best:

 

episode 1 of the alienist = underwhelmed
episode 1 of counterpart = interesting

 

They were hyping Counterpart on The Watch, one of the Ringer's TV / movie podcasts. Definitely sounded interesting, so it's on my list to check out.
