Luntz amazes me. Again, it proved the President can read for more than an hour. He stepped on some of the applause lines - but sure, it sounded like something Reagan would read, but without the optimism.

You know Trump wants to be a war president. He's itching to send in the bomb strikes.

I don't know if there is a more respected and accomplished political leader who has had a longer career but also worse instincts than Clinton. She talks when she should stay quiet and stays quiet when she should be talking.

 

I'm glad he stepped on some of the applause - sped the whole thing up a bit.

Trying to bury the comment before the biggest news, or trying to steal thunder and get attention? Not sure.

My odd thought for the night: the acronym SOTU sure is close to STFU.
