    Of course it's going to be smaller in absolute terms. (Well, it's probably smaller in percentage terms as well.) But this really smacked of "$1.50 for you, $500,000 for him. See how generous we are?"

    I mean, if it wasn't a bad look, he wouldn't have deleted it.

    I didn't really take it in the "see how generous we are" mode, so ... I thought he was actually trying to say that even though it's small for some, it's not trivial to them.

    As re: the "smaller in percentage terms" ... no, not really. Here's a table from the Joint Committee on Taxation re: the distributional effects ...
