Because it favors incumbents and trying to fix it would cut you out of that sweet lobbying gig post-congress

The craziest thing about fundraising, particularly in the House, is how few of the seats are truly competitive. The vast majority of incumbents aren't raising money to keep the seat in their parties hands, but to ward off a challenger in a primary. While I think most Americans would favor more fairly drawn congressional districts, imagine how much more money would be needed.

What I find most astonishing about the Nunes memo is that he has admitted that he didn't even read the FISA application and that he has refused to deny that his office worked with the White House in drafting it - and no one seems to give a shit.

"This is the city, Los Angeles California. A lot of people earn a living here and there are a lot of ways to do it. Some of them have jobs that weren't thought of five years ago. Some of them are learning jobs that are guaranteed to be obsolete five years from now. A few work in the cleanest places on earth, and a few don't. They all have one thing in common it takes a day's work to earn a day's pay. Not everybody buys the idea, there are a lot of ways around it."

Battling treacherous office chairs and aching backs, aging cops and firefighters miss years of work and collect twice the pay

They could have it worse. Over here in Britain, most back-benchers in Parliament have no real power and no real hope of climbing the ministerial ladder either. So they're basically social workers of last resort for their constituents.

I'd like to think the various attacks on the media and the law enforcement are just cynical attempts at deflecting attention by the GOP - sure Dems do it too - but I really am starting to think the WH has a basic premise that anyone who opposes them and isn't on their team is "biased."
It's a twisted way of looking at things, and probably dangerous.

@YankeeFan, do you agree that the President’s inability to follow even the most basic of grammar rules undercuts every statement he makes, and calls into question his intelligence?
