Have a personal policy that, upon watching "PTI" (the only show I watch on ESPN other than games, pregames and halftimes), I have to flip away before the 6 pm (ET) SportsCenter begins to avoid Hill and/or Smith. Usually, since I DVR "PTI," that means hitting Delete about the time Wilbon says "... knuckleheads." Every once in a while, I get distracted while "PTI" is winding down and fail to hit the button in time. That day and evening, at that point, is ruined.

When was her last day on the 6?

The fact that I don't know is a sign that she's nothing to me.

Great deal of critical energy being expended on someone no one watches. Curious.

That's just how the Internet is.

It's actually a sign of progress in America when a show can feature two black hosts and not be the greatest thing ever. Do you know how many average shows featuring two white hosts there have been? There's no law that every piece of writing or art or whatever produced by a black person has to be great. Some of it's mediocre, which makes it like the 12,000 mediocre things that have been on ESPN over the years.

There will be more true diversity in journalism when you see more women and minority sportswriters plugging away at 25,000-circ dailies producing just, you know, pretty good work. Like white dudes do every day of the week.

No one at a 25,000 daily produces good good work.

I think that it will be a great day when we see more women and minority sportswriters plugging away at 25,000-circ dailies. In fat, it will be a great day if the day comes when we see more journalists of any color or sex plugging away at 25,0000 circ dailies given the economic woes of the newspaper industry.

And I am curious. Was the first nationally televised show on something other than BET to have two black hosts? Seriously.

As for Jemele Hill I admire her ability to be named a host of a show based largely on her intellectual abilities and not beauty pageant appearance.

Some of the comments Michael Smith has made in the past couple months make me shake my head.
