    Fired for protesting our flag. Pence didn’t protest our flag, so the comparison is a non sequitur. Your question would make sense if Pence sat when our flag was presented.

    Right. Pence didn’t say all political protests are objectionable. Just the ones he disagrees with.

    Do you protest things you agree with? There are things I protest. There are things I don’t. I’ve never protested anything I agree with. Have you? Seems rather stupid and counter productive to do so, don’t you agree?

    South Korea hates Japan. And it is also true that South Korea has emulated Japan's post-war industrialization. It's also true that South Korea is a pretty repressive place. But I guess NBC gets what it gets when it hires an "expert in Chinese affairs" to discuss Korea.

    They're enlightened compared to North Korea - and perhaps that's the reason they have a history of cracking down on protests and other public demonstrations of disagreement with the government. It's in most of the history books.
