Running 2018 Winter Games thread

Which thread, because I do not give a sh#t about the Olympics.

"I don't care about the Olympics" people are worse than Cross-Fitters.

 

I'm not looking forward to 4 a.m. hockey games, however. Our East Coast brethren can watch at 7 a.m. as they are getting ready for work.

 

You realise sports like halfpipe snowboarding, figure skating, gymnastics, diving and the like all started with someone saying "look what I can do" and it devolved into a dick measuring contest? ... Metaphorically speaking of course for some of the sports

 

Indeed. The Winter Olympics are basically, "Mom, look at this!" with a rulebook.

 

I'd like to see Lindsay Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin ski downhill with a bunch of children's lesson groups spread throughout the course. See what they're really made of. Anyone can ski an empty run.

Yeah, hold all skiing in New England during February vacation week. A real test of nerve and skill then.

 

Well yes, but the clear one-upmanship that marked the later runs last night usually happens in the finals, not qualifying rounds.

 

CNBC has curling from 5pm-8pm where they could have done 7pm-10pm and shown this US game live. Can't quite figure that one
