Do you read writing about the Olympics?

Last night on TV, one commentator said, "Kim's been waiting her whole life for this moment." I'm thinking, "Buddy, she's 17, she's been waiting her whole life for her driver's license, too."

I remember this part of a story after the Lakers won an NBA championship: "I've been waiting for this for a long time," said first-year Lakers owner Jerry Buss.

I did not read much about the Olympics going into them, and I haven't been reading any run-up going into each night of TV-watching the last few days. But I have been reading day-after follow-up writing/reporting after watching each night of competition. I enjoy sort of comparing what I saw with what the reporters saw, in an analytical and entertainment kind of way.

Same guy also made reference to what she'd be wearing to the prom, no? Or some prom reference.

Yeah, he did. Pathetic. To get back on topic, morning is my prime news and sports news reading time and the time difference with South Korea is probably cutting down on my Olympics (and everything else) reading. When I can watch events live, I'm not going to be reading about events that've already happened.

She’ll be 18 in April. But @Doc Holliday only said she was “kinda” hot.

I can do without the NBC News personalities there. Katie Couric has proven to ruin a good opening ceremony. I should've remembered that from Rio. Lester Holt does feature stories with a look on his face that says the world is burning, and the Hooka lady is just plain awful. Mike Tirico carries that crew, and thank goodness they have people broadcasting the events who actually know what they're talking about.

There are some good stories I've read out there on NYT, USA Today, Team USA.org and other outlets.

Doc had second thoughts, changed “hot” to “cute” and took out the line where he said he looked at the photos “with lust in his heart” in his now edited post.
