    It's not.

No one has the right to own a machine gun.

No one has the right to own a tank.

No one has the right to own a rocket launcher.

We already place common sense limits on the 2nd Amendment, just as we do on the First.

I would not. But just because I don’t have the need to exercise a particular right doesn’t mean the right should not be defended. Especially in the face of hysteria and ignorance.

“Now, Bart, I know you’re too young for that machine gun you wanted, but I’m gonna give you something that’ll make sure when you’re old enough, you can still buy one: a membership in the National Rifle Association.”

“Wow, the NRA! Can I get armor piercing cyanide tipped bullets too?”

    “It’s in the Constitution, son.”

    Hunting rifles, for one.

Handguns are a big part of the problem.

One hunting rifle and one shotgun per family.

We can do it like the Swiss did back in the day. We issue every family in the country a 30-06 and a 12-guage and give them 100 rounds of ammo.

Collect everything else and drop it into the sea.

    No handguns.

Hey, let's be clear: We keep screaming "NRA!" because it keeps paying lawmakers to ignore a violent national crisis.

How about, in addition to adopting some stricter gun regulations, we all insist that Congress stop taking bribes?

We’d have to do away with Congress.

What about families where multiple people hunt? Or shoot skeet? And am I supposed to use the same rifle elk hunting as I do squirrel hunting?

    How?

Part of my nationwide 'gunemployment' buyback program.

I'm being facetious, but we have to find ways to reduce the number of guns in circulation.

Big mistake when octopuses figure out how to fire eight weapons at a time and start storming our beaches.
