If we were serious about stopping these incidents, the psych profiles would hit a *lot* of people and cause a lot of uproar. Domestic violence is the biggest common thread the shooters have, and if you want to stop the Mandalay Bays of the world, you have to strip gun ownership from guys like Rob Porter and we can barely even get him out of the White House.

But JFC, surely we can at least do something about the guys talking on Youtube about how much they want to kill people.

Exactly, demonstrating why so many Republicans are taking funding away from public education. They gave up on getting prayer into public schools, so they simply want to take as much of the money away from public education as they can and siphon it into schools that will allow it.

This is why we have Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education. It's clear that's the issue that drives her in education and her family has deep pockets. Their approach is going to lead to more districts like East Ramapo in New York, where one religious group managed to get control of the board of education, strip public school funding to the bone and divert money to pay for religious private education for some of the students.

Trump is saved by scandal overkill.

There are so many that they compete for energy: The resignation of White House speechwriter David Sorensen, also amid abuse allegations. Trump’s squelching of a memo that rebutted details of his self-exoneration in the Russia probe. Daily infighting among current and former officials in a White House staff that has already had a 34 percent turnover, as the New York Times’ Peter Baker reports. The adviser to the first lady whose firm was paid $26 million by Trump’s inaugural committee. The heads of the Centers for Disease Control and Preventionas well as the Health and Human Services Department resigning over allegations of impropriety, and indications of similar ethical issues at Housing and Urban Development, Interior and Treasury. The Trump family using the federal government for personal financial gain. The White House ignoring Russia’s once and future disruption of U.S. elections.

Yep, strip anyone who can't pass. Weed it down to the truly reponsible gun owners.

Let the uproar ensue. Direct those who are denied to the appeals process.

So, they had one strategy for facebook, but a whole other strategy for all of their other activities?

The goal was the same in each instance.

You’re smarter than that. There’s a reason the Obama rule so often incorrectly cited was overruled.

The best alternative to outlawing guns is strict parameters and enforcement of those trusted to own guns.

This President and this Congress abolish oversight as they try to wish this crisis away. Well, it ain't going away.

People's heads are really going to explode when we learn that Mueller's folks held back exculpatory evidence from Flynn, he withdraws his guilty plea, and his case gets thrown out:

On Dec. 12, after just a few days on the Flynn case, Sullivan, acting on his own, ordered the office of special counsel Robert Mueller "to produce to [Flynn] in a timely manner — including during plea negotiations — any evidence in its possession that is favorable to defendant and material either to defendant's guilt or punishment."

Sullivan also ordered Mueller "to produce all discoverable evidence in a readily usable form." And he declared that "if the government has identified any information which is favorable to the defendant but which the government believes not to be material, the government shall submit such information to the Court for in camera review." In other words, Sullivan declared that he, not Mueller, would be the judge of what evidence should be produced.

While the move could be simply standard procedure for Sullivan, it was nevertheless notable because Flynn had already pleaded guilty, and, as part of that guilty plea, agreed to "forgo the right to any further discovery or disclosures of information not already provided at the time of the entry of [Flynn's] guilty plea."
