    If I read Rick right, his point is that we can construct this massive, federal mental health apparatus that would cost untold billions and raise any number of constitutional issues ... or we can just stop fucking selling AR-15s. For free!

    Mostly, yes, but also that while this particular asshole fit the stereotypical profile of a complete sociopath who broadly announced his intentions ahead of time, a lot of them don't.

    A screening system that catches the Nikolas Cruz's of the world will be better than nothing, but it's only one part of the process.

    Democracy is hard work. There's an argument that most Americans want everything handed to them now.

    I won't be around in 50 years, but I wish I could see how it turns out.
