He makes himself available to the press, and answers more press questions, than almost any recent president. The WH press corp will attest to this.

If he was completely avoiding the press, this would be an issue.

Yes, just like the recent indictments.

    Hmmmm.

    Almost sort of true.

Taking hurried, informal questions in the hall or on the plane or on the tarmac - or just ignoring them - from a "frenzied" gaggle of reporters is to Trump's advantage.

And Bush did more of them, and also more press conferences.

Is Trump more media-accessible than Obama?

Trump’s press strategy: A few questions, then a quick escape

I think the point about why we all spend time and attention on Trump's tweets stands.

LOL. The indictments, against Russian nationals, that specifically stated that no Americans, let alone members of the Trump campaign, wittingly participated?

This is silly. If there was evidence of collusion, someone would have brought it forward by now. It's not like the special counsel is the only one looking for it.

Mueller needs to deliver. If this doesn’t land somewhat close to Trump, it’s a media disaster.

I see how the counter narrative of whatever comes is going to play out right here, in absurd chicken little proclamations like this.

The Trump family is only accused of some money laundering and accidental collision because they were too stupid to figure out how to collude properly! This is a victory for Trump!

Enriching friends with wildly inflated government contracts who turn around and write campaign checks is an accepted political practice.

(Or it was because she was threatening to go public with a Trump affair. Anything is possible with Trump.)

I’m by no means a Trump fan, but I do think this analysis overlooks that Trump makes himself available to individual reporters, even for relatively mundane stories, albeit perhaps less than when he was on the campaign trail. Even the #failingNYT can get an interview.
