I want to switch one of mine:
I've been on an active battle ship and landed on/taken off from an active carrier.

There is a 1970s SNL skit to be done here about the kid who couldn't hit a free throw for shit during practice but was lights out during the game.

    1. I proposed to my wife after knowing her 3 weeks (married 7 mos later, still happily married now 23 years later)
    2. I once got to know, drink, sing and generally hangout with Julius Erving for a night during a celebrity pro-am (very cool dude)
    3. Ever since I can remember, I used to dream about playing with my kids (luckily came true)
    4. Became a biracial family in the early 70's with the arrival of my dad and I rarely thought anything of it
    5. I was on a softball team with a retired Tongan LB from the Cowboys in the early 90's, before Tongas and Polynesians were well-known, dude was unbelievable athlete, 220 and ran like the wind; felt like I was playing with Bo Jackson.

Oh I remember those guys fondly but my context was those guys were an exception whereas today they are all over the place.

Not saying I sang (very well), but he certainly put on his best Temptations impression.

I am of 100% Irish descent. I've been known to sing when drunk; it comes with the ethnicity.
But I'm not sure I'm doing it if I'm hanging with Dr. J.

If I had the pleasure of getting drunk with Dr. J, I'd likely spend the night shaking in my head and repeating 'Dude, do you realize you're Dr. f#cking J?!?'

Full disclosure, he wasn't hanging with me because of me, my buddy and I were hanging with two attractive women he knew and that was the attractant.

I was calling him Dr. J and he said "please call me Julius."

Best one, I asked "out of all the highlights in your career, which one do you recall most fondly?"; I'm thinking the unbelievable reverse in the Finals? maybe the tomahawk on Landsberger? Beating Celtics? He says "they were all the same to me." ?!?! Unbelievable.
