They have built one in the Garden City SC area since I have been there. Can not wait to try it!

I'm quite fond of Cheesecake Factory, but only if a booth is available. I refuse to sit in one of these "for two" settings with someone else inches away.

Otherwise, Cracker Barrel (and a plus if it's cold outside and the fireplace is roaring inside).

Is there some rule that SJ.com have a chain restaurant discussion every six months?

There's a guy bringing Naugles back. There's one in Fountain Valley and a seasonal one on the water in Huntington Beach. I need to get to one of those.

Del Taco is indeed far superior to Taco Bell, but I've never quite forgiven Del Taco for killing Naugles.

And Songbird is right about Del Taco's fries.

It's a good place to read too while guzzling all that food.

None, and fortunately I live in a town where I could eat out once a week (we don't) and never have to visit a chain. I'll take a locally owned, non-chain restaurant every time.

Burger division: If I'm closer to the Left Coast, In-n-Out. If I'm in NYC, Shake Shack. Otherwise, give me your local restaurant every time.

The Metroplex chain restaurant scene is hyper-competitive and just weird. Chains try to move in all the time and some make it (In-n-Out, Raising Canes), others don’t (Krystal, Del Taco), and the jury’s still out (Red Robin, El Pollo Loco). It is kinda nice being in a hot market that both East Coast and West Coast businesses covet.

Sounds like the deal at Blaze Pizza, which is very good stuff.

Holy hell, I haven't heard the word "Naugles" in forever!

Lived down the street from Naugles back when ... good tacos.

The best fast-food tacos without a doubt, without a fucking doubt, were those greasy-soaked heart cloggers from Jack in the Box. Man alive.

When I lived on the Westside of L.A., I had to cover a JC basketball game in O.C. Our friend Earl told me that I absolutely had to come down early and eat dinner at Naugles -- there aren't any on the Westside. I'm expecting a nice coffee shop with great food. I found the place and when I saw it had a drive-thru I was surprised. But it was pretty good food for eating in the car. This was in 1975.
