When Chloe Kim won her gold it was so anticlimactic. No one else was even close to the point she didn't need her final run.

I will say bobsleigh was fun to watch mainly because of the danger element. Other than that, the best moments haven't been American. The Russian figure skating rivalry can be interesting. The Czech skier who was just happy to be there and ended up winning was cool.

All the sliding events have been great. When the German bobsled flipped over as it crossed the line to take first place, that was incredible.

And short-track speedskating is very cool.

The Games are very visually appealing. I think it comes down to a bunch of people the majority of Americans have never heard of competing in sports most of us never played and don't understand.

Also, many of the NBC hyped athletes (Rippon, Maame Biney, Schiffrin, Vonn to a degree, men's hockey team) have not met expectations, or at least the expectations set for them.

That said, I'll be watching the ski halfpipe tonight hoping for a U.S. podium sweep.

The women's hockey final should be a good one. I know it's cliche, but these teams really don't like each other.

My wife has been griping about the lack of feature stories during the main NBC broadcast. We get hours of non-medal contending figure skaters - but no five-minute features?

We noticed that, too. I hypothesize that most winter Olympians grew up wealthy and, in this day and age, basically ate, breathed, and lived their sport from about age 7. They are also largely from democracies. Not exactly Movie of the Week material.

I always enjoy those events. I don't know who the announcers are, but they're fun as well.

My friend was extremely interested until a couple of days ago. He took a teaser bet in Vegas: which would be higher, the number of points in the first quarter of the Super Bowl OR the number of medals won by team USA? He took the medal count and on the weekend when it got to 12, he knew he was going to win because the U.S. women's hockey team was assured of gold or silver. The first quarter of the Super Bowl ended 9-3.

I believe the word "hate" has been tossed around, and I love it.
